Add a new shortcut. In the "Link" section, type
shutdown.exe
the title should change automatically to Windows Remote Shutdown Tool. Just pick an image and your all set to go. Sometimes doesn't work; all depends on your OS and version. I have XP sp2, and it doesn't work but I know people that it does work for. Google "shutdown shortcut" to find out more, if it doesn't work for you. Good luck. I use the shutdown google gadget sometimes, but generally just use the keyboard shortcut: "windows button" then "u" and "u" again (if you've got a laptop).

ptcman I use the Exit Windows Docklet... Shutdown, power off, restart, log off, lock the workstation/switch user, suspend or hibernate the machine with this little docklet

WWW Link

Download & install this into C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Docklets. Then rightclick in a blank area on you dock & add the docklet. Then Rightclick on the docklet & choose properties to customize, & test out the Glow feature. I have the Shutdown, Hibernate & Restart docklets on 1 dock and I have check marked request confirmation just to ensure I don't accidentally shutdown or restart. I also have that dock set to.. Keep on Bottom & mouseover disabled.
